Brock’s Performance & Team Hooters

Wera Racing

Expanding upon 25 years of sportbike dragracing innovation and success on the quarter-mile, Brock’s Performance is proud to announce its first roadracing team partnership.

For Team Hooters’ Suzuki GSX-R1000 entry in the 2010 WERA National Endurance Series Heavyweight class, Brock’s Performance will supply exquisitely handcrafted CT Dual exhaust systems and high-tech Blackstone Tek (BST) carbon fiber wheels equipped with low-friction Worldwide Bearings ceramic wheel bearings. The team’s Middleweight entry, a Yamaha R6, will be fitted with an ultra-light Alien Head exhaust system.

The Brock’s Performance CT Series dual exhaust is a high-end, all-titanium, full exhaust system with a carbon fiber endcap that combines state-of-the-art materials and manufacturing techniques with competition-proven performance. The Alien Head exhaust package features lightweight stainless steel headers capped off with a GP-style megaphone muffler finished in a black ceramic thermal coating.

Just 16 pounds per pair, BST’s five-spoke wheels feature a trick, single-piece construction. They utilize carbon fiber strands woven in a unidirectional pattern, embedded in a resin matrix, cured in a high-pressure autoclave at 250 degrees and coated with a chemical-resistant, high-gloss finish.

"The Hooters race team always draws a crowd in the paddock and at the many displays they set up at Hooters restaurants across the country," says Brock’s Performance president Brock Davidson. "We’re proud to be associated with this hard-working team and look forward to a successful 2010 endurance season."

Hooters team owner Steve DeCamp is looking forward to this new partnership: "I’ve always admired Brock’s skills as an engine builder, racer and businessman. I’m glad to see the growth of his company and am excited to be part of its move into roadracing."

In addition to the Team Hooters roadrace support, other Brock’s Performance- and BST-sponsored riders include nine-time AMA national dragracing champion Rickey Gadson heading up the quarter-mile assault. On the tuck-in-and-gas-it front, land-speed record holders John Noonan and Leslie Porterfield, motorcycling’s fastest man and woman, and many other top-speed demons, also roll on BST rims.

The eight-race, 2010 WERA National Endurance series kicks off with a four-hour event this weekend at Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah, Georgia. Tim Hunt and Skip Selenius will share Team Hooters’ Heavyweight-class riding chores, while James Rispoli and Tim Birdsong will man the team’s Yamaha R6 in the Middleweight division.
