Husqvarna announces 2010 race contingency

Husqvarna is backing 2010 racing in a big way by offering more than $11 million in contingency awards for 145 different U.S. racing series this season. "Think of it as the Husqvarna Bailout Program," says Marketing & Racing Chief Scot Harden. "Even though the economy is going through some tough times, now isn’t the time to back down. Our support for all levels of racing has never been stronger."

With a total contingency fund of $11,678,993 and more than $5 million spread across an amazing number of 53 different offroad and cross country series, Husqvarna has posted the largest total contingency package of any motorcycle manufacturer involved in racing in North America. The pot is further sweetened with an additional $5.6 million in motocross contingency money.

"We look forward to re-establishing Husqvarna as the leader in motocross and off-road racing so we are willing to put our money where our mouth is," Harden adds. "$406,905 in the GNCC, $308,765 in WORCS, $132,375 in AMA National Enduro, and $142,125 in AMA National Hare and Hound contingency alone."

Speaking of "show me the money," the nearly $12 million potential payouts break down as follows:
>> Off-Road – $5,332,175
>> MX – $5,671,944
>> Supermoto – $588,175
>> AMA Flat Track – $85,900

"Husqvarna had a winning year on the track and in the sales department this past year and we want to continue to reward Husqvarna racers accordingly in 2010," says Husqvarna Motorcycles North America President Mark Brady. "This was a phenomenal result considering that 2009 was our first full year of operation in the USA."

Brady adds that Husqvarna continues to offer great consumer financing for 2010 making it even easier for more racers to take full advantage of Husqvarna’s huge contingency program. "There continues to be a lot of good news at Husqvarna including some exciting new models joining our range like the all-new TE630 and SMS630," concludes Brady.
