    Valentino Rossi had his third outing aboard the Ducati GP12 Wednesday at Mugello, twisting the throttle on the MotoGP prototype for 80 laps.

    While Rossi was out testing, his Ducati Team boys (Vittoriano Guareschi and Filippo Preziosi) were analyzing data on the bike which will be used in 2012 MotoGP when the bikes can have 1000cc motors.

The first team rider to lap the Italian circuit was Nicky Hayden, who completed 83 laps aboard the machine that will be used in 2012 MotoGP, when the the series will allow an engine capacity

    The last time Valentino Rossi left Mugello, he was on a stretcher with a broken leg. But the Ducati pilot returned to the track on Thursday, this time leaving the MotoGP circuit with positivity.

    This positivity after Valentino Rossi’s second outing on the Ducati GP12, the Italian completing 60 laps at the circuit (without incident).

    Mattia Pasini today concluded testing of the Ducati GP9 at the Mugello circuit, having enjoyed three days of warm, sunny weather in which he was able to improve his knowledge of the Desmosedici and demonstrate continuous progress. During these days he experienced two falls (yesterday and today) but this did not deter him and he began to test different set-ups, in order to adapt the bike to his riding style. A positive experience for him and also for Ducati’s technicians who appreciated his positive and determined character as well as the data he was able to provide.

    Prior to the next MotoGP round, to take place at the Portuguese track of Estoril on 4th October, Mattia Pasini will be back on board the Desmosedici GP9 during a three-day test session at Mugello from 22nd to 24th September.     The test session that saw Troy Bayliss ride the Desmosedici GP9 together with official test rider Vittoriano Guareschi has today concluded at the Italian track of Mugello.

    Bayliss enjoyed his time on track and has got back into the riding, six months after his retirement from Superbike racing and having not ridden a bike since then. On leaving the Tuscan track this afternoon he declared he was satisfied with his pace after having had only three days to ride.

    Despite changeable weather on the first day of testing in Jerez, Nicky Hayden completed some important set-up work on his Desmosedici GP9 machine.

    The 2007 MotoGP World Champion continued to make progress in his adaptation to the bike and Bridgestone tyres but will be looking to make the most of his final day of preseason testing, which takes place here tomorrow.
