Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S. has announced its list of customer-focused activities for the July 22-24 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.
Celebrating 50 years of Grand Prix Racing and its sixth year as a marketing partner, Yamaha is a proud supporter of the U.S Grand Prix and this historic facility.
In the midst of a hectic, back-to-back MotoGP race schedule, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies captured his maiden victory aboard the M1 at the famed "Cathedral" in the Netherlands last Saturday.
It was a double celebration, considering it was Spies’ first MotoGP win and the first of this year’s 50th Anniversary of Yamaha racing in Grand Prix.

Elbowz has done it. In only his second year of racing in the MotoGP Championship, Ben Spies took his maiden victory at Assen TT Saturday.
The Yamaha Factory Racing rider was consistent all week, and got out front early at The Cathedral. Spies went on to lead all 26 laps of the MotoGP race.

Although rain plagued the MotoGP free practice sessions and qualifying at Assen TT, wet conditions didn’t affect the legendary Cathedral when the 26-lap race started.
And though the skies remained gloomy with overcast, one American’s emotions were anything but gloomy – Ben Spies.
On Wednesday, the Yamaha Factory Racing team launched the YZR-M1 WGP50th MotoGP prototype in Assen that will be used by team riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies this weekend and at Laguna Seca. The bike was launched on stage with the Yamaha team members as the Japanese motorcycle marque celebrates 50 years of Grand Prix racing.

In his first year aboard the satellite Yamaha, Ben Spies has proved himself, taking the 2010 MotoGP Rookie of the Year.
This helped propel the Texan to the factory Yamaha squad, where Spies is currently teammates with the reigning MotoGP Champion, Jorge Lorenzo.
