Max Biaggi Welcomes Son Into World

2010 World Superbike Champion

Max Biaggi celebrated another victory on Thursday, the birth of a son. The 2010 World Superbike Champion welcomed Leon Alexandre Biaggi to the world at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monte-Carlo.

The newborn Leon weighs in at 2.9 kg. Reports say Leon’s mother, Eleonora Pedron, 2002 Miss Italia, is fine, and will be discharged within a few days.

This is Biaggi’s second child within two years; him and Pedron’s first-born daughter, Ines Angelica, is 15-months old.

The 39-year-old Italian is very dedicated to his family. After winning the 2010 World Superbike title, he took some before resigning with Aprilia for the next two years.

In a recent interview, the Aprilia RSV4 rider says the decision had nothing to do with negations on pay; he said the decision was strictly based on what his family was comfortable with. Biagg said Pedron gave the OK, he signed the contract.

Biaggi and Aprilia were the first Italian/Italian team to take the title since the World Superbike Championship’s inception in 1988.
