Honda Electric Motorcycle and Scooter Revealed [Concept Bikes]

Honda EV Fun Concept First Look: Battery Powered

Until now, Honda has been quiet on the electric street-legal motorcycles for adults, and instead focusing on off-road models. That has changed at EICMA 2024, with Honda showing two concept bikes—the EV Fun Concept sport bike and the scooter-style EV Urban Concept—that could indicate the company’s direction.

Honda Electric Motorcycle and Scooter Revealed: Sport Bike

The Honda EV Fun Concept is a sport bike designed for recreation. It has the look of a motorcycle and plenty of high-performance features.

Starting at the front, there are dual discs with four-piston radially mounted Nissin calipers. The inverted fork is grasped by a beefy lower triple clamp. The headlight is aerodynamic, and the dash is sleek.

The bodywork above the cradled battery is smooth, with a nearly invisible seat. The rear of the frame is aluminum, with a shelf supporting the bottom of the battery.

The rear of the Honda EV Fun Concept has a single-sided swingarm and belt final-drive.

The footpegs are mid-mounted, the tapered aluminum handlebar is relatively high and wide, and it has bar-end mirrors. It’s definitely an upright, naked streetfighter-style EV.

Honda is claiming only a 62-mile “cruising” range, however, so there’s a limited time for “fun”. Charging is via the CCS2 protocol used by automobiles, so the Honda EV Fun Concept motorcycle would be able to use many public charging stations.

Honda says the EV Fun Concept will be “commercialized” in 2025, though specific markets are not mentioned.
