2012 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip welcomes the groundbreaking band Sublime with Rome, for their debut performance during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on Saturday Aug 11, 2012.

Sublime has sold over 17 million albums world wide and is known as one of the most influential bands in rock with their unique fusion sound.

The Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling at the Buffalo Chip will feature Sublime with Rome as well as the growing list of major headliners from all sectors of music during the annual Sturgis Concert Series, including Eric Church, Slash, featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Journey, Zac Brown Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sugarland, BOSTON, Candlebox, Buckcherry, Saving Abel, Loverboy, Shinedown, Adelitas Way and more.

Formed in Long Beach, Calif., in 1988, Sublime delivered an irresistible blend of ska, reggae, punk, surf rock, and hip hop that captured the imagination of fans around the world. Over the course of eight years, the band released three albums, 1992’s double platinum “40oz. to Freedom,” 1994’s gold “Robbin’ the Hood,” and 1996’s 6x-platinum self-titled major label debut. However, the commercial success was overshadowed by the tragic loss of vocalist and guitarist Bradley Nowell in 1996.

After not performing as a band for over a decade, the surviving members of Sublime decided to reform in 2009, with Rome Ramirez, a 23-year-old songwriter and musician, as the new voice of the band. Growing up in the Bay Area, Rome was introduced to Sublime’s music by his uncle, and credits the band with inspiring him to first pick up a guitar and learn to play at age 11.

Sublime with Rome released their debut album “Yours Truly (Sublime with Rome album)” Yours Truly” in July of 2011 and has not looked back, igniting stages across the country with amazing music and epic live performances. On Saturday, Aug 11 Buffalo Chip campers and concert goes can expect to hear hits such as “What I Got,” “Santeria,” “Date Rape,” and “Wrong Way” as Sublime with Rome hits the main stage in the Chip’s natural amphitheater.

Rod Woodruff (Buffalo Chip Owner) says: “The Buffalo Chip is pleased Sublime with Rome decided to make their rally debut with us. Their amazing one of a kind sound and phenomenal stage show is going to get the Chip rock’n like no other can do.”
