2 Be Continued: The Villopoto Film (Trailer)

Ryan Villopoto Profile Film

There’s no doubting Ryan Villopoto’s talent. In 2011, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider took the AMA Supercross title in his second year of competing in the premier class, and followed that up with taking the AMA Motocross title.

And this year, he once again dominated, making history by winning the championship at Round 13 in Houston, the earliest clinch in the series’ history.

But behind all those wins resides a “most private, reserved and soft-spoken individual.” And now, the Volcom clothing company and Vans has produced “2 Be Continued: The Ryan Villopoto Film,” which provides an intimate look into RV2. The trailer is attached above.

Speaking of the film, Volcom says “To that end, Volcom set out to peel back the layers and dig out the soul and charisma of the champion. We traveled the nation over, meeting family, friends, industry members and a hero to discover the real RV. What we found, well, we’ll let the film and Ryan do the talking.”

The LIVE online premiere will be posted on the Volcom Facebook Page and available for iTunes download on June 21, 2012.

Here’s a glance at Villopoto’s career:

  • 2012: AMA SX Champion
  • 2011: AMA SX Champion, AMA MX Champion
  • 2010: AMA SX wins in San Fran, Anaheim 3, Indy, Daytona, Toronto, Jacksonville, and Houston
  • 2009: AMA SX wins in Seattle and Las Vegas
  • 2008: AMA MX Lites Champion, MXON Champion
  • 2007: AMA SX Lites West Champion, AMA MX Lites Champion, MXON Champion
  • 2006: AMA MX Lites Champion, MXON Champion, and AMA Rookie Of The year

Unfortunately, Villopoto won’t contend in the 2012 AMA Motocross Championship due to injuries sustained at Indy Supercross; for a report, click here.
