MotoGP: Four-Day Schedule for Qatar

2011 MotoGP Qatar Schedule

The MotoGP Championship will begin the 2011 season with a different schedule at the opening round for the Commericalbank Grand Prix of Qatar on March 20.

The MotoGP round will take place over four days instead of the traditional three, due to making all practices occur at night, mimicking conditions of the race under the lights at Losail on March 20.

The first practice will be Thursday evening, March 17, and continue Friday evening. Qualification for the MotoGP event will be on Saturday evening, and the race will take place Sunday evening.

The season official kicks off in two weeks.

The first official test session for 2011 MotoGP will be from Feb. 1-3 at Sepang. The riders again hit the track for the second official test session at Sepang Feb. 22-24.

The final official MotoGP test before the start of the 2011 season takes place under the lights at the Losail International Circuit from March 13-14.
