Foremost Insurance Pegram Ducati’s Larry Pegram had another strong run in the Sunday AMA Pro American Superbike race at Virginia International Raceway. Pegram and Ducati, winners of three 2009 AMA Pro American Superbike races, earned yet another top-five result. Larry charged towards the front, passing Mat Mladin and Blake Young in the middle portions of the 23-lap race. Larry challenged for a podium finish and eventually crossed the finish line on his Ducati 1098R in fourth.

AMA Superbike: Race 1
Foremost Insurance Pegram Ducati pilot Larry Pegram finished 12th in the first of two races during the Virginia AMA Pro American Superbike weekend. An off-track excursion in the race took Pegram out of the top ten but the Ohio native continued to turn impressive lap times on his Ducati 1098R after running through the grass.
The winner of the two previous American Superbike races was disappointed in the result but positive about his chances in the second race on Sunday.

AMA Superbike: Race 1
Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Mat Mladin carded yet another AMA Superbike podium finish, this time at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, Virginia, on Saturday afternoon. Six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mladin brought home second place in the first of two 23-lap races in the AMA Superbike double-header weekend. Mladin has been leading the championship points in the series all season and had hoped to clinch his seventh title on Saturday.
Saturday’s AMA Pro Road Racing National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL finals from the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at Virginia International Raceway will air tonight on SPEED Channel at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT).
Foremost Insurance Pegram Ducati’s Larry Pegram barely missed the front row in Superpole at Virginia International Raceway on Friday, earning fifth-best in the one-lap shootout qualifying format. Pegram’s best lap was just 0.05 behind the fourth starting position in the AMA Pro American Superbike race at the 2.25-mile circuit. Larry, who won pole at Kansas, was disappointed he did not make the front row again.

Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) rolls into Alton, Virginia with just two rounds remaining on the AMA Pro Racing calendar, but plenty of action to be found on the track. MJM-riders Aaron Yates and Geoff May will take to the 2.25 mile circuit over the August 14 – 16 weekend at the Big Kahuna Nationals looking to finish out their seasons strongly and place their Suzuki GSX-Rs firmly on the Big Kahuna podium.
The scenic track, a favorite among riders, mixes a rolling, flowing road-course layout inside of country club-style grounds.

Foremost Insurance Pegram Racing and Larry Pegram are back in action this weekend at Virginia International Raceway for the Big Kahuna Nationals. Pegram will strive to duplicate his last race meeting, one that saw him win pole position and both AMA Pro American Superbike races on his Ducati 1098R at Heartland Park Topeka in what was an incredible three days for the veteran racer. Pegram has emerged victorious three times in 2009 and his hot streak has seen him rise to third place in the series points.
The 10th Anniversary Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals will feature all four of AMA Pro Road Racing’s divisions in a jam-packed schedule highlighted by six different races this weekend, August 14 – 16, at Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

Yamaha Factory Racing star Josh Hayes, along with his wife Melissa Paris, and teammate Ben Bostrom are scheduled to compete in the upcoming WERA Endurance race this weekend at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.
Competing with Ben Bostrom and Sam Gaige on the M3 Racing YZF-R1, Josh is looking forward to getting back to his WERA roots. "This is where it started for me many years ago and I’m excited to get to race with Ben and Sam.

It is important to note that Topeka is a newly sanctioned round on the championship schedule. It is also important to note that Topeka has made changes to the track, but unfortunately, as is the case too many times, the track approval process was flawed and we arrived at a facility that was not ready for our caliber of competition.
Trading in his kid’s bicycle for a sportbike, Chad Kagy, two-time BMX gold medal winner in the X Games, is preparing for his first road race in August at Virginia International Raceway.
Kagy regularly competes professionally in the BMX Vert and Mega Ramp classes, and is well known for his X Games gold medals in those two classes. About his unusual profession Kagy said, "When I was in my late teens people in my neighborhood would see me on my BMX bike and ask if my parents didn’t think I was old enough to have an adult-sized bicycle.
