    Holeshot Broc Tickle on the Kawasaki KX 250 earned his first win of the 2011 AMA Supercross Lites motorcycle racing season during a tough and slippery track race in Oakland. Finishing just behind Tickle in second was teammate Josh Hansen who found his way back to the SX Lites podium.

    JDR Motorex KTM’s PJ Larsen has been crowned the 2010 Super X, Australasian Supercross Champion in the Lites category.

    The 20-year-old American added the Super X title to the MX Nationals Championship he won earlier in the season, making for a perfect season in Australia last year for Larsen and the KTM 250 SX-F.

    The 2011 AMA Supercross series heads to Chase Field in Phoenix this weekend for Round 2 of 17.

    At last week’s season opener in Anaheim, Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto took the win. He was followed to the line by reigning Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey and San Manuel Yamaha rider James Stewart, a two-time SX champion.

    Kawasaki rider Jake Weimer brought home his fourth win in five races at a muddy Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. With just one short practice and a deteriorating racetrack, the 22-year-old claimed the Supercross Lites victory and extended his points lead to 26 with just three races remaining in the West Coast season.

    The consistent rain made for a long day at the track as the teams waited nearly six hours for practice to start. The track crew did a good job keeping the track in good shape as it improved with each session.

    Honda rider Trey Canard isn’t letting his victory at last weekend’s 2010 AMA Monster Energy Supercross Lites race go to his head. He just doesn’t have the time.

    Canard and the rest of team GEICO Powersports Honda head to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego for the fifth race of the season this weekend, which has given Canard little time to revel in last Saturday’s success.

    Anaheim 2 proved to be a tough round for Supercross Lites rider Ryan Morais who crashed during his heat race. Ryan was running in second place in the qualifier until another rider landed on top of him while attempting to triple the last part of the rhythm section before turn six.

    Ryan was quickly taken off the track to the Asterisk mobile medical unit, and Ryan was later transported to nearby UCI Medical Center, where he stayed until he was released at approximately 2:30 Sunday morning.

    Kawasaki rider Jake Weimer had another great night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California as he won his heat race and the Supercross Lites main event for the third straight week. Weimer’s Supercross Lites victory at Anaheim 2 marks his third win of the season as well as his fourth win in the last five races at Angel Stadium.

    With all the rain in Southern California in the week leading up to the Supercross, Weimer could have easily taken some time off before heading to the races.

    Ryan Villopoto earned his second win in three races, pacing the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM Championship season finale at Sam Boyd Stadium. Villopoto’s victory came on the heels of Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel’s victory earlier in the evening during the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Supercross Lites Shootout. In all, the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team placed all four of its riders in the top six with Jake Weimer finishing fourth, Austin Stroupe fifth and Ryan Morais sixth.

    Villopoto book-ended his rookie season in the supercross class with wins.
