Assen Lorenzo/Simoncelli Crash
First there was the controversial crash at Le Mans that sent Dani Pedrosa to the pavement, breaking the Repsol Honda rider’s shoulder. San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Marco Simoncelli apologized, saying he was sorry for the incident.
In the following interview, moto-journalist Leandra Graves catches up with Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP’s Ben Spies in Barcelona ahead of Catalunya qualifying to discuss his thought’s on this weekend’s race in Spain, plus his thoughts on Marco Simoncelli and his relationship with teammate Lorenzo.
2011 MotoGP Crash Update
Following the controversial crash at Le Mans MotoGP Sunday, it was confirmed Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa broke his right collarbone.
The Spaniard returned home later that day, and had additional tests. Pedrosa had the choice of either undergoing surgery or letting the bone naturally heal because it was a "clean break."
2011 MotoGP FP Results
Last year at the Portuguese Grand Prix, then Rookie Marco Simoncelli finished fourth, which was the best finish so far in his MotoGP career.
During that race, Simoncelli missed out on the podium by a mere 0.059 of a second aboard the San Carlo Honda Gresini RC212V.
