Motorcycle Racing Art at Laguna Seca | Video

Motorcycle Art

An artist’s life doesn’t stop when it comes to the subject of motorcycle racing. Last weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the official artist of the venue, Bill Paterson, painted some images of the Michael Jordan National Guard Suzuki team.

Patterson is known for his artistic motorsport prints, such as his popular painting of Valentino Rossi celebrating the MotoGP Fiat Yamaha rider’s ninth world championship.

Using mostly acrylic on canvas, Patterson paints "live" and is generally commissioned by an array of private clients. Patterson says his work tries to communicate speed, passion and power, showing the unique relationship between man and machine, or in this case man and motorcycle.

Here’s a video of Patterson creating a painting at Laguna Seca, which hosted the U.S. Red Bull Grand Prix (USGP) and AMA Pro Racing’s Superbike, Daytona Sportbike and Supersport series.
