2026 Honda WN7 First Look: Electric Motorcycle; 21 Photos

Honda has unveiled its first production electric motorcycle, the WN7, entering the European market with a naked upright standard. Revealed in Tokyo, the WN7 offers a claimed 80-mile range, a fixed lithium-ion battery, and performance comparable to mid-sized gasoline-powered motorcycles. The debut of the 2026 Honda WN7 follows a concept preview at last year’s EICMA show in Milan.

2026 Honda WN7 First Look: Range

The 2026 Honda WN7 stems from the EV Fun Concept, shown at EICMA 2024, marking Honda’s first electric-power two-wheeler with a non-removable battery. Its name reflects its design: “W” for the “Be the Wind” theme, emphasizing a smooth ride; “N” for its naked style, with minimal bodywork; and “7” for its power class, akin to 700-class gasoline-powered motors.

Powered by a 24-horsepower water-cooled electric motor, the WN7 produces 74 lb-ft of torque, matching the low-end power of a liter-class ICE powerplant.  The transmission is a fully automatic one speed, and the final drive is a belt.

The 2026 Honda WN7’s range is estimated at 83 miles per charge in real-world conditions, making it usable for urban and suburban commutes—a pedestrian-alert sound system meets European EV regulations—and sport riding is possible if the twisties aren’t far away.

Its fixed lithium-ion battery supports CCS2 fast charging, a standard shared with electric cars, enabling charging from 20 percent of capacity to 80 percent in 30 minutes at public stations. Home Level 2 charging via a 240-volt outlet takes under three hours for a full charge.

At 478 pounds, the 2026 Honda WN7 uses a steel trellis frame, single-sided swingarm, and 17-inch wheels. The bike’s design is slim, lacking exhausts or radiators, and responsive handling is promised.

A sharp LED headlight and compact turn signals doubling as daytime running lights add to the contemporary styling. The five-inch TFT dash shows speed, power mode, range, battery status, and navigation, and connects to the Honda RoadSync app for smartphone features such as call alerts, music playlists, and turn-by-turn directions. The dash also tracks charging history and power modes.

Honda’s launch ties to its environmental goals, outlined in a November 2023 briefing, targeting carbon neutrality for motorcycles by the 2040s and all products. The 2026 Honda WN7 is the first of 30 electric models Honda plans to release by 2030.

Set for European dealerships in early 2026, the WN7 starts at £12,999 in the UK. Prices will vary across Europe due to taxes and subsidies. Production begins late this year, and there’s no word on any distribution outside of Europe. Test rides of the 2026 Honda WN7 are expected to be on the EICMA 2025 schedule.
