More of a mini-Concours than a Ninja, the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS features two power modes, three-mode traction control, ABS, and a three-position adjustable windshield to make it a sporting bike with the ability to travel long distances.
Its touring prowess comes via comfortable ergonomics, a saddlebags-ready rear subframe (the hard bags run $900), and the ability to add a top case (about $450 for the case and mounting bracket). Don’t minimize the Ninja 1000 ABS in the canyons, however. It can run with most bikes, thanks to its torquey liter-plus motor and predictable handling.
