Roland Sands Design and Victory Motorcycles are building a unique machine to take on Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – “Project 156.”

The machine – tagged “Project 156” due to Pikes Peak having 156 corners in 12.42 miles as it ascends nearly 14,000 feet – features a redesigned chassis, a Victory Motorcycles prototype engine, and Ohlins suspension.

Roland Sands is building the machine, working closely with Victory and the man who will pilot the bike, moto-journalist Don Canet, who earned third aboard a Ducati Multistrada 1200 in the Open class at 2014 PPIHC.

This is an all-American effort, and Sands says the project will be one of the few “raw-exposed road-racing motorcycles.”
