Bob Dylan, America's quintessential singer, songwriter, activist and poet will be gracing the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on the renowned stage of the Legendary Buffalo Chip for a once-in-a-lifetime performance on Tuesday, August 10.
A musical luminary of unmatched proportions, Dylan will be offering those in attendance a unique glimpse into his remarkable repertoire of musical contributions that have spanned nearly 50 years.
A trendsetter by every definition of the word, Dylan's slangy yet profound lyrics successfully changed the face of American music, culture and politics. Raised in the small town of Hibbing, MN, Dylan quickly made a name for himself in the early 1960's.
His deeply resonant and topical songs combined with his cool detachment and playful poetic nature have challenged, intrigued, and influenced listeners for five decades. During a time of political, social and cultural upheaval, Dylan proved that music can be the catalyst for true societal change.
With his guitar, keyboard, and harmonica in tow, Dylan has explored and revolutionized a myriad of musical genres including folk, blues, country, gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly.
Backed by an impressive and changing line-up of musicians, he has toured steadily since the late 1980's on what has been dubbed the "Never Ending Tour". Dylan's Seminole works include his mega-hit albums "Blonde on Blonde", "John Wesley Harding", and "Blood on the Tracks".
He has also received numerous awards over the course of his legendary career including a Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Awards.
In addition to being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, in 2008 the Pulitzer Prize jury awarded him a special citation for his profound impact on popular music and American culture.
