The lineup of IMS After Dark activities continues to grow for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP MotoGP event, as pop-rock band Crash and rock tribute band Appetite For Destruction will perform Friday, Aug. 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The fourth annual Red Bull Indianapolis GP will feature the best MotoGP racers in the world competing Aug. 26-28 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
But the MotoGP event also will boast the best party of the year in Indianapolis for everyone interested in the two-wheeled lifestyle and a great time.
NHRA will launch its 10th anniversary season with ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports television, with a primetime telecast of the most highly anticipated Full Throttle Series race in many years at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona: the 50th Kragen O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals presented by Valvoline, Feb. 14 from 8-11 p.m. ET.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the completion of its famous brick racing surface, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) iis offering a unique keepsake to commemorate this significant day in the track’s history.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, exactly 100 years to the day that the final brick was laid, any fan who purchases four reserved Race Day tickets to any IMS event in 2010 will receive a commemorative plaque containing a replica of the contract used to purchase the bricks and a casing of original brick pieces from the racing surface.
Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa won the pole Aug. 29 for the 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a MotoGP track-record lap of 1 minute, 39.730 seconds.
Pedrosa, a 23-year-old native of Barcelona, Spain, maintained a narrow lead over second-place qualifier Jorge Lorenzo until he pulled off his record lap on his 28th of 30 total laps in the qualifying session.
Racing starts at noon (ET) Sunday at IMS, with the MotoGP race at 3 p.m. Morning warm-ups in all three classes – MotoGP, 250cc and 125cc – start at 9:40 a.m.
The Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Aug. 28-30 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway offers a dream weekend for motorcycle racing enthusiasts, on and off the track.
A full schedule of events is planned during the second annual MotoGP event at IMS, including more than 11 hours of overall on-track time for the best riders in the world on Practice Day, Friday, Aug. 28, Qualifying Day, Saturday, Aug. 29 and Race Day, Sunday, Aug. 30.
