MotoGP in Thailand
Yamaha Factory motorcycle racers Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies took a detour to Thailand on their way home from the official MotoGP test in Malaysia. The MotoGP stars spent the day with over 10,000 Yamaha fans in Bangkok at a special one-off brand event.
At the first official MotoGP test session of the 2011 season, Dani Pedrosa showed much promise. The Repsol Honda rider continues to recover from a broken collarbone, but this didn’t affect his performance during the three-day test at Sepang this week.
Fiat Yamaha had their first official MotoGP test of 2011 at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Yamaha Factory Racing Team riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies spent the three days on track evaluating a number of development steps for the 2011 Yamaha YZR-M1 ahead of the new race season.
Sepang Winter MotoGP Test
The first official MotoGP test of the 2011 season came to a conclusion Thursday after three days of running at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia.
Despite the normally inclement weather, the busy testing schedules of the MotoGP teams, riders and Bridgestone were aided by three full days of dry running.
In less than two weeks the 2011 MotoGP season officially starts with the first test at Sepang in Malaysia.
The 2011 MotoGP season carries significance for a number of reasons. First, it will be the premiere class’ final 800cc title before the allowable engine capacity goes to 1000cc in 2012.
2011 MotoGP Prep
A three-day Ducati MotoGP development test began Monday in Spain, at Jerez de la Frontera. Two teams, under the guidance of Ducati Technical Director Filippo Preziosi, supported official test rider Franco Battaini and Vittoriano Guareschi, who temporarily replaced his Team Manager duties with those of a rider.
2011 World Superbike Prep
The Paul Bird Kawasaki Superbike Team began a four-day test Monday at Sepang, Malaysia, as they prepare the 2011 Ninja ZX-10R the 2011 World Superbike season. And returning to the track after a long recovery from knee surgery was Chris Vermeulen.
2011 WSBK Prep
The Kawasaki World Superbike Racing Team will take advantage of favorable weather conditions in Sepang, Malaysia, to test for four days, Jan. 10-14.
Besides the Superbike tests, the Kawasaki Provec Motocard.com WSS team is also busy preparing for the 2011 season.
