    Following a crash during private testing in Assen last month, BMW Motorrad Italia’s James Toseland injured his wrist, having surgical pins installed.

    This week, the Brit had those pins removed, and is hoping to return to the 2011 World Superbike Championship aboard the BMW S1000RR in Monza, Italy, May 8.

    During a private two-day World Superbike test for the BMW Motorrad Italy Team at Motorland Aragon last week, James Toseland high-sided his S1000RR, fracturing his wrist.

    The injury will prevent Toseland from competing at Round 2 of the World Superbike Championship in Donington on March 27.

    BMW Italy Unveils 2011 Superbike Livery

    The BMW Motorrad Italy Superbike team, with riders James Toseland and Ayrton Badovina, was unveiled in its 2011 WSBK livery at Autodromo di Monza on Monday.

    The Italian team, which will make its debut in the World Superbike Championship, won the FIM Superstock 2010 Cup with Badovini at the controls.

    Dorna and the FIM have confirmed the provisional list of riders and teams entered into the MotoGP World Championship for the 2010 season. No real surprises here but a few interesting and impactful changes can be spotted when compared to the 2009 MotoGP entry list.

    Ben Spies, the 2009 SBK World Champion, joins the MotoGP ranks and will surely be a challenger. James Toseland has left the MotoGP series and will now be competing in the SBK series. Tony Elias has also stepped down but instead to the new Moto2 class.

The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth.     The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team is delighted to announce it will field Colin Edwards and Ben Spies in an all-American line-up for the 2010 MotoGP world championship.

    Edwards has agreed a new one-year contract after the Texan produced the best form of his MotoGP career during 2009, including a stunning second place in the British MotoGP at Donington Park.

    The 35-year-old has featured in the top seven in ten out of 13 races so far and he’s still firmly in contention for a top five world championship placing.
