Jett Lawrence won a weather-shortened SuperMotocross Playoff 1 at zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, to take the lead in the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs. Lightning and darkness forced the cancellation of the second moto, so the Moto 1 results were also the overall results.

Jett grabbed a holeshot and never looked back, leading all 12 laps at keeping Tomac at by by at least one second. Eli Tomac was in P2 for most of the race, until he fell on lap 9, promoting Sexton to P2.
“I’m not sure if it was [too much] acceleration or if it was the front end that tucked there, Tomac said of his fall. “Either way, I was maybe a little impatient.”
“It’s funny, I thought I had the Holeshot, and I just blew the first turn.” Sexton explained. “Jett got underneath me, and I was probably 4th or 5th behind Ken [Roczen] and just had to work my way up. Eli went down, which gave me a gift, but I felt pretty good, actually. I felt like I was gelling with the track.”
Ken Roczen ran in P3 early, but faded to P6 after getting passed by Sexton (lap 3), Hunter Lawrence (lap 6), and RJ Hampshire (lap 10).

Hunter Lawrence worked his way up to P4 after a P6 start. RJ Hampshire came from P8 on the first lap to P5 at the end. #1 seed Justin Cooper went down early, advancing to P11 from last place. Cooper loses the red plate and drops to P3 in the SMX Playoff standings.
