2026 Triumph Scrambler 400 XC First Look: Wire-Spoke Wheels

The first rounds of the new Triumph 400 platform in 2024 included the street-only Speed 400 and the off-roadable Scrambler 400 X. It seems the X wasn’t quite scrambler enough, so check out the 2026 Triumph Scrambler 400 XC. Released last year in Indian, Americans will now get the new version with enhanced scrambling capabilities.

Here’s what Triumph Motorcycles Chief Commercial Officer Paul Stroud has to say about the new 2026 model: “The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC has been a huge hit with customers in India, and there is clear demand for this model across the rest of the world too. With improved off-road capability and Scrambler attitude, plus three new, stylish color schemes, we hope this model will appeal to even more riders, further enhancing and extending the appeal of the Triumph brand for the next generation.”

The XC is not a huge makeover. The big change is the implementation of wire-spoke wheels with tubeless aluminum rims. That’s in contrast to the 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels on the X. The XC and the X have 19-/17-inch wheelsets and are shod with Metzeler Karoo Street tires, which have a 70/30 street/dirt ratio.

Additionally, the Scrambler 400 XC sports a high-mount forward front fender and a flyscreen. The different wheels and fender, and the addition of a flyscreen, add 15 pounds to the weight of the X, putting the XC’s curb weight at 410 pounds.
