Schubert S2 Sport Review | Premium Motorcycle Helmet

The new Schuberth S2 Sport continues to incorporate the drop-down internal sun visor that attracted me to their brand long before other manufacturers copied this design from them.

The S2 is equipped with the external faceshield that has been upgraded on all Schuberth helmets in the last few years. It has Pinlock studs with a fog-free lens included, and this design, Schuberth claims, “Passes optical class 1 standards, meaning this is as clear and free of distortion as it gets.”

The typical Schuberth ratchet chinstrap was replaced with the more common double D-ring connector.

The faceshield has a position that allows it to stay open in its narrowest setting for good airflow at lower speeds. Schuberth’s faceshields are also the easiest to remove and replace of any helmet brand I’ve ever tested. The face shield also has what appear to be tiny diffusers along the top edge, like those on the tail end of some racecars, presumably to create more efficient airflow over the top.

Schuberth recommends this lid for touring and sport touring. I’d say the S2 Sport might be perfect as your only helmet. Whether touring, strafing canyons, or riding to a local venue, I see no differentiation as to when one ought to wear it. Its design is sporty enough—especially with the new graphics—to attract even the most aggressive riders, yet retains the classic elegance for which the manufacturer is known.
