Ducati 1199 Superleggera
Production has begun on the Ducati 1199 Superleggera, a super bike that sticks with the Bologna manufacturer’s performance recipe of light weight and high horsepower.
The Superleggera, which translates to Super Light, has a claimed dry weight of just 341.7 lb., and its 1198cc Superquadro L-Twin will produce over 200 horsepower.
Ducati achieved such numbers by using a variety of lightweight materials on the chassis and engine, such as carbon fiber, magnesium and titanium.
Only 500 of the Superleggera, and the bike will likely retail for around $62,000.
Ducati recently released a the above video of the Superleggera rolling down the production line at its Borgo Panigale facilities.
