It was only a matter of time before Ducati released the successor to the 848EVO, and that time arrived in late September. During the VW Group Night in Frankfurt, Germany, Ducati unveiled the 899 Panigale, the younger sibling to the 1199 Panigale.

This new “Supermid” features an 898cc Superquadro L-Twin engine that produces 148 horsepower at 10,750 rpm, which is up 14 on the 848EVO. Besides featuring a brand-new engine that’s based on the 1199’s powerplant, the engine also integrates with the monocoque frame to become a fully stressed member of the chassis.

The 372.5 lbs. (dry) 899 Panigale is further highlighted by a double-sided swingarm and Showa/Sachs suspension, and, unlike the 848EVO, loaded with the latest electronics: three-level ABS system, three Ducati Riding Modes, eight-level Ducati Traction Control (DCT), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and full Ride-by-Wire (RbW) throttle control.

Attached above are 44 photos of the 2014 Ducati 899 Panigale. Each image can also be used as wallpaper. For a preview of the 899 Panigale, including full specs, visit Ducati 899 Panigale First Look.
