Donington Superbike: Biaggi Tops QP2

2011 World Superbike

Due to cold weather conditions Saturday morning at Donington in the UK, not much changed in the provisional pole postions after the second qualifying practice.

The provisional front row remained exactly the same as Friday’s qualifying practice 1: Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia), Marco Melandri (Yamaha World Superbike), Carlos Checa (Althea Ducati) and Eugene Laverty (Yamaha World Superbike). Biaggi fell twice in QP2, but was uninjured.

The biggest changes in Saturday’s QP2 was Jonathan Rea (Castrol Honda) moving up from 16th to sixth, and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing) moving from 13th to ninth.

After not so good results on Friday, Michel Fabrizio (Suzuki Alstare) was just fast enough to make it into superpole, the Italian finishing 15th fastest.
