World SBK Test
The Phillip Island circuit south of Melbourne, Australia is the scene on Monday and Tuesday for the final session of pre-season testing in view of the opening round of the FIM Superbike and Supersport World Championships, taking place here next weekend.
Silverstone Circuits Limited is pleased to announce that it has added Britain’s round of the FIM Superbike World Championship to its portfolio of world class events in 2010. The Northamptonshire circuit has stepped in to agree a new, short term contract with Infront Motor Sports (the commercial rights holder for the FIM Superbike World Championship) after the event’s immediate future had looked in jeopardy.
Ticket details for the only UK round of World Superbikes, taking place at Silverstone between 30 July and 01 August, will be announced in due course.
Ben Spies played a starring role on the second day of MotoGP testing in Valencia today, the Texan producing another confident and assured performance on his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 YZR-M1 machine.
Making only his fifth appearance on board Yamaha’s YZR-M1 machine, the 25-year-old continued his seamless transition from World Superbikes to finish with the fourth quickest time.

World Superbike makes annual pilgrimage to legendary Assen TT Circuit
The Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands is the venue for this weekend’s fourth round of the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship. World Superbikes have graced the Drenthe circuit ever since the first edition in 1992 and despite it undergoing a major transformation in 2006, when it was reduced in length from over 6 kms to its current 4.555 kms, Assen remains one of the most spectacular events on the calendar.
