Race two at Motorland Aragon World Superbike Sunday was a history maker – not so much due to the results, but because it was the 700th World SBK (the first was April 3, 1988, at Donington Park in the UK). A replica of Saturday’s Aragon WSBK race one, perfect riding conditions greeted the 25-rider grid at the 3.1-mile circuit containing 17 miles.
Perfect racing conditions welcomed the 25-rider World Superbike grid for race one of round three at Motorland Aragon in Spain. All eyes were on the Kawasaki Racing Team duo of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes; heading into Aragon, Rea had three wins – a double at the Phillip Island season opener and race one in Thailand – and Sykes had the remaining win, race two in Thailand.
