American Motocross fans are in for a special treat this Sunday evening, as the renowned SPEED program Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain will celebrate the history of the sport, kicking off the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports, have announced that KTM will become a series sponsor of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Nationals.
The 40th anniversary of American Motocross kicks off with the Hangtown Motocross Classic on Saturday, May 22 from Rancho Cordova, Calif.
As part of the continued evolution of American Motocross, MX Sports Pro Racing is introducing a series of very special acknowledgements that will be awarded to each and every AMA Motocross racer that qualified for one of the 12 rounds of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Certificates of Achievement and Merit are personalized to each rider who made it into the final motos, be it in the 450, 250 or Women’s class.
The chase for the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship has hit the home stretch. With just three rounds remaining, the premier 450 Class title fight appears to be nearly wrapped up by Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Chad Reed who holds an impressive 82-point lead over Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short in second place.
After a pair of dominating performances this past weekend, Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Chad Reed and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel lead the charge into this Saturday’s Monster Energy Motocross National, round 10 of the 12-race Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at legendary Budds Creek MX Park in Mechanicsville, Md.
The third and final round of the Monster Energy Triple Crown of Motocross will take place this weekend, providing an opportunity for Reed and Pourcel to take home $3,000 apiece.
