Cardo Ride App First Look: Goodbye, Riser

Cardo Systems has relaunched its motorcycle riding app, Cardo Ride. The new app replaces Riser Powered by Cardo, a platform Cardo acquired in 2023. Riser users do not need to start over, as their profiles, ride history, and group memberships will automatically transfer to Cardo Ride.

The new Cardo Ride app keeps the core tools riders used in Riser, including ride tracking, route planning, discovering new roads, and sharing trips with other riders. Cardo says people have logged more than 130 million miles on the Riser platform, and Cardo Ride builds on that. The thousands of existing rider groups will be preserved.

Cardo Ride will handle the social side of motorcycling, including rides, routes, groups, and ride-sharing. At the same time, the separate Cardo Connect app will continue to focus on the hardware, which covers pairing headsets, updating firmware, and changing device settings.

Four main features are added in Cardo Ride:

  • A tool called reWind builds a quick recap of a finished ride on a 3D map, and lets the rider share it.
  • An updated newsfeed shows rides, posts, and updates from other riders.
  • A new group, open to all Cardo users, giving them a place to swap routes and trade tips on using their headsets.
  • The Cardo Ride app is integrated with Cardo Connect, so riders can jump from ride data to device settings without signing in twice.

Cardo says more features and tighter links to its communication devices will roll out in the coming months. The company has not given a date for those updates.

Cardo Systems CEO Alon Lumbroso explains that the move is meant to tie Cardo’s headsets more closely to the riding experience: “We’re taking that leadership further by linking every ride, every story, every new route, and the entire riding community.”

The Cardo Ride app is free to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. A paid tier, Cardo Ride Pro, unlocks the full feature set. New users can start a free trial of Pro through the app.
