2014-2016 Yamaha WR250R Recall
Yamaha Motor Corporation , USA (Yamaha) has announced it is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 WR250R dual-sport motorcycles due to leaking oil. Recall documents indicate as many as 2,550 bikes are affected by the recall.
The affected units were manufactured from August 1, 2013, to June 1, 2016. The recall was triggered due to an incorrect assembly process, which may cause the clutch push lever oil seal may crack, allowing engine oil to leak out. If oil leaks from the engine, the oil may get on the rear tire, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Yamaha has indicated it will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clutch push lever oil seal, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926. Yamaha’s number for this recall is 990108.
