2011 Yamaha Returning Sport Models

2011 Sport Motorcycles

While all Yamaha sport motorcycles are getting visual facelifts for 2011, some are also getting upgrades.

In response to many of our test riders’ criticisms about the on-/off-throttle behavior of the FZ1, Yamaha has given it a new ECU with, according to Yamaha, “improved off-idle and low-speed settings.”

The FZ1 will be available in Liquid Silver for 2011 and have a MSRP of $10,490.

The FJR1300A returns with heated grips as standard behavior. The electronic shift FJR1300AE will not be available as a 2011 model.

The FJR1300A comes in one color–Liquid Silver–and has a MSRP of $15,490.

The 2011 YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 are unchanged mechanically from last year. Both the R1 and R6 will be available in Candy Red/Raven, Raven, and Team Yamaha Blue/White. The R1’s MSRP is $13,590 and the R6’s MSRP is $10,690 (add $200 to each for the Candy Red/Raven color scheme).

The Valentino Rossi tribute version of the R1 with Fiat team graphics will not be available for 2011.

Also, the FZ6R is back for 2011 (the FZ6 is gone). It will be available at a MSRP of $7590 for the Reddish Copper/Raven color scheme and $7490 in Raven.
