Mattia Pasini today concluded testing of the Ducati GP9 at the Mugello circuit, having enjoyed three days of warm, sunny weather in which he was able to improve his knowledge of the Desmosedici and demonstrate continuous progress. During these days he experienced two falls (yesterday and today) but this did not deter him and he began to test different set-ups, in order to adapt the bike to his riding style. A positive experience for him and also for Ducati’s technicians who appreciated his positive and determined character as well as the data he was able to provide.
Mattia Pasini took advantage of today’s great weather as he got back to grips with the Ducati during the first of three days of testing at the Mugello track. Pasini, who felt immediately comfortable when he rode the GP9 with the team last month at Brno, was feeling positive once again today even if the asphalt was still quite slippery, and is looking forward to two more enjoyable and constructive days on this fast and technical Italian track. His best lap time was 1’52.8 (56 laps)
Mattia Pasini Speaks…
Prior to the next MotoGP round, to take place at the Portuguese track of Estoril on 4th October, Mattia Pasini will be back on board the Desmosedici GP9 during a three-day test session at Mugello from 22nd to 24th September. He will ride alongside official test rider Vittoriano Guareschi under the supervision of Filippo Preziosi.
Valentino Rossi added a third pole position to an enviable haul from 2009 at Sachsenring on Saturday, coming out on top in a drenched qualifying session at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
Rossi’s last gasp 1’32.520 lap was not only enough to head the timesheet by over six-tenths of a second, but it was also sufficient to give him a first ever MotoGP pole at the German track.
