2025 Unadilla Motocross Fantasy Picks and Tips: 9 Fast Facts

The 2025 Pro Motocross Championship Series returns to the iconic Unadilla MX circuit in New Berlin, New York, for the penultimate round. After a steady start to the season for RMFantasyMX players, it’s gotten wild out there. With Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton out of the top five last week at Ironman Raceway, it only took a score of 80 out of a maximum of 113 points to take away the ASV C6 Series weekly top price. We hope to do a little better than that with our 2025 Unadilla Motocross fantasy picks—we’ll see!

2025 Unadilla Motocross Fantasy Picks: Chase Sexton
Chase Sexton.
  1. Chase Sexton has left the building. Due to a shoulder injury in that wild crash at the Ironman National, we won’t be seeing him at the starting gate until SuperMotocross Playoff #1 at zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, on September 6.
2025 Unadilla Motocross Fantasy Picks: Jett Lawrence
Jett Lawrence.
  1. Expect Jett Lawrence to return to his winning ways at the Unadilla National. The opening moto last week at Ironman Raceway was one to forget for Jett. He jumped the start, ending up midpack after the first turn, and finished in P3 overall behind moto winner Sexton and Hunter Lawrence. However, Jett’s starting infraction earned him a one-lap penalty from the AMA, which put him in P17 for the first moto. Infuriated, Jett dominated the second moto of the day at Ironman MX. That’s likely to carry over into Unadilla.
2025 Unadilla Motocross Fantasy Picks: Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence.
  1. Although Hunter Lawrence picked up his first-ever 450MX overall win last week, he’s not likely to repeat. Jett was faster than Hunter in both motos, so look for Hunter to pick up his fifth P2 overall of the season at Unadilla MX. Hunter looks great, but Jett is still clearly the fastest rider on track.
Yamaha's Eli Tomac
Eli Tomac.
  1. With six podiums in nine rounds, Eli Tomac is the best P3 choice. After his hiccups at RedBud and Spring Creek, Tomac has rebounded. Even with Tomac sick last week, he found his way on the podium, even if it did require a Jett penalty and a Sexton crash. Tomac has earned his way back as a podium pick.
R.J. Hampshire on a Husqvarna
R.J. Hampshire.
  1. It has been an impressive 450MX rookie year for R.J. Hampshire. Since breaking into the top five at round six (RedBud National), he hasn’t left. Last week, in the wake of the problems for Jett and Sexton, Hampshire took his first overall podium. If you’re thinking about Justin Cooper for P4, consider this—Hampshire has beaten Cooper at the last three rounds.

    Yamaha's Justin Cooper
    Justin Cooper.
  2. The final top five spot comes down to Justin Cooper and Jorge Prado. It’s not complicated, however. Cooper has bested Prado at every round this year. Cooper fills out the top five.

    Kawasaki's Jorge Prado
    Jorge Prado.
  3. If you don’t want to pick Cooper or Prado for the top five, you have two long shots to consider. Dylan Ferrandis finished in P7 at his first race back after injury, so he could improve. Justin Barcia has gone 9-7-5-7-9 this year. That makes him top five capable, though still not likely.

  4. The Wild Card is P14, so it’s pretty much a lottery. Colt Nichols has three P14s this year, but he won’t be lining up due to injury. The next best choice is Lorenzo Locurcio, who has finished 12-13-15 in the last three rounds. Mitchell Harrison was P14 last week, so he’s a possibility. Harri Kullas is on an 11-10-13-11-13 run. That’s close, but Kullas hasn’t finished in P14 or worse since round 4 at High Point. I’m going with Locurcio.
  5. The Unadilla National is on the East Coast, so West Coasters will have to get up early to watch all the coverage. Peacock has Race Day Live at 10 a.m. EDT, and racing begins at 1 p.m. locally. Check our 2025 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for details.
