At 42-year old, software salesman Dennis Matson of California was going through some rough times due to a recent breakup.
His plan to deal with everything? Take six months of motorcycle touring. His desired machine? A Ducati 1199 Panigale S. Though friends said he was nuts, six months later Matson would travel almost 16,000 miles through 35 states.
But it wasn’t just touring; Ducati North America was impressed with the California native’s passion for the Ducati brand, and invited Matson to attend the launch of the Ducati 1199 Panigale R at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas this past June. There, Matson would personally meet Ducati’s CEO, Claudio Domenicali, and MotoGP pilots Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies.
