Suzuki Recalls DL650 V-Strom, Scooters

2012 Suzuki DL 650 V-Strom Recall

Suzuki has recalled certain model DL650 V-Strom motorcycles and AN400/AN650 scooters due to brake-light actuation failure.

Suzuki says around 1,396 models manufactured prior to Dec. 17, 2011 are potentially affected.

Suzuki says the lever-mounted brake-light actuating switches may fail, not illuminating the brake lights when the DL650 or scooters are braking, increasing the risk of a crash. On the AN400 and AN650 scooters, failure of the switches will prevent starting.

Suzuki will notify owners, and replace the actuating switch free of charge. The safety recall is expected to began on or about Feb. 13, 2012.

Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-714-996-7040, and reference recall-campaign number 2A26/2A27. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.org.
