This past May, the Concorso d’Eleganza invited motorcycles to enter the competition. And due to the popularity of the elegant two-wheeled machines, the “Concorso di Motociclette” will be back for a second run in 2012 (May 25-27).

As this year, the parkland of Villa Erba, not far from the Villa d’Este in Cernobbio in Italy will provide the stage for this unique beauty pageant run by the BMW Classic Group.

The entry application list for the 2012 Concorso di Motociclette will open on 1 December, and applications are welcome from collectors, enthusiasts and private owners alike.

The motorcycles for the event are selected according to their historical significance, as well as technical and aesthetic criteria. Further information on applying to enter the event can be found at concorsodeleganzavilladeste.com.

The international jury will get the contest under way with a detailed inspection of the motorcycles registered for the Concorso, before presenting them to the public one by one.

Ahead of the actual competition, the motorcycles will give the assembled admirers a rolling preview of what is to come as part of a public parade.

Karl Baumer (President of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este) says: “We’ve received encouragement from both visitors and entrants to take the motorcycle Concorso to the next stage. The public parade is a first step in this direction.”
