Motorcycle Safety Recall

Honda is recalling 120 of its sport-touring models, the NT700V, due to incorrect tire information on the label applied to swingarm, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported Saturday.

Honda says the label on the swingarm may display the incorrect tire size and air pressure specs. Improper inflation or size may cause premature tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Honda says NT 700 V motorcycles manufactured from Nov. 26, 2009, through Nov. 27, 2009, are affected int he recall.

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer will mail the correct tire-information label along with installation instruction to effected customers. The customer may also have a dealer install the sticker free of charge.

The Safety Recall is expected to begin on or about Nov. 11, 2011.

Owners may contact Honda at 1-866-784-1870. The safety recall number is S02; Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.gov.
