Triumph Recalls 2010-2011 Tiger 800 (XC)

Motorcycle Recall

Triumph is recalling 2011-2012 Tiger 800 and Tiger 800 XC motorcycles due to a problem with engine management software.

The British motorcycle marquee says 1,485 units are affected that were built from September 2010 through June 2011.

Triumph says the rider may notice lower RPMsm and when decelerating the engine could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will download new Engine Management Software into the motorcycles ECU free of charge. The manufacture has not yet provided an owner notification schedule.

Owners may contact Triumph Customer Service at 1-678-539-8782.

Triumph’s safety recall number is 431; owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.com.
