Ducati Recalls Diavel Motorcycles

2011 Ducati Recall

Ducati is recalling 2011 Diavel motorcycles due to kickstand/center stand issues, the Italian manufacturer reported Wednesday. Ducati says 919 motorcycles are affected.

Certain model Diavel motorcycles manufactured from May 18, 2010, through June 13, 2011 were built with insufficient material in the pivot area of the side stand; this could result in possible bending and breakage of the side stand, causing the motorcycle to fall over.

Ducati will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replaced the side stand and pivot bolt free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin this month (August).

Owners may contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696, or visit ducati.com. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.gov.
