Sunday Motorcycles Sales Legal in PA

Motorcycle Legislation

Last Thursday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett signed a bill into law that has given motorcycle dealerships something to gawk about.

Corbett signed a bill into law that allow the sale of motorcycles on Sundays. Before the bill, dealerships were allowed to be opened, but only sell apparel, tools, tires, etc.

Pennsylvania now joins New York, Ohio, Maryland and New Jersey in allowing Sunday motorcycle sales. Besides Pennsylvania, New Jersey is the newest state to offer Sunday motorcycle sales; they signed the bill in March.

Although motorcycles can be sold on Sundays, cars sales are still outlawed on Sundays due to the vintage "blue laws" that prevent many Sunday activities, like hunting and at one point the sale of alcoholic beverages.
