Tribute is being paid to a popular Isle of Man TT regular who died while motorcycle racing at Killalane, Ireland.

Victor Gilmore crashed in the 600cc race on Sunday. He succumbed to his injuries in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Race organisers the Loughshinny Motorcycle Club issued a statement on behalf of the 42-year-old’s family.

It read: "Sadly he lost his life doing what he loved most. He will be dearly missed by his family, team and road racing family. His family request privacy at this sad time."

"The committee and members of the Loughshinny Motor Cycle Club extend their deepest sympathies to Victor’s family and large circle of friends for their sad loss."

The father-of-three from Ballymoney had been a regular on the Mountain course since 2000, when he rode in the Manx Grand Prix.
