KTM National Dual Sport Series
American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) member Rod Overstreet of Campbellsville, Ky., received an unexpected reward for his participation in last year’s AMA KTM National Dual Sport Trail Riding Series: a 2010 KTM 530 EXC from series sponsor KTM North America.
As part of KTM North America’s ‘Just Went Factory’ promotion, KTM is opening up its race department tricks to all KTM customers with the Factory Service Program.
Owners of current model KTM SX, XC, XC-W and EXC bikes can now get their bikes tuned by factory technicians to the same specifications normally reserved for factory riders. The engines and/or suspension will be individually hand-tuned to produce performance equal to the bikes that the KTM factory team riders race each weekend.
In 1953 the Kronreif, Trunkenpolz, Mattighofen Motorcycle Company entered their first racing activities, the fifth running of the Gaisberg competition, and finished with first, second and third place honors. Fifty years later, KTM—as the manufacturer is now known—has emerged as a modern builder of high-quality, reliable, exceptionally well-engineered motocross, enduro and supermoto machines. They are also the motorcycle of choice by the majority of the two-wheeled field in the Paris/Dakar Rally, taking top honors the last few years in the world’s ultimate endurance race.
