2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo First Look: 13 Fast Facts

The flagship street-oriented ADV motorcycle from KTM gets noteworthy changes for 2026, including some features you might have thought you would never see from the Ready To Race folks in Austria. While the chassis receives only minor updates, the motor and transmission are revolutionary. Although production on the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo doesn’t start until early in the spring next year, that doesn’t mean we can’t whet your appetite for ADV.

2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo First Look: Specs

  1. The 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S gets the new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). We covered this in October, and this semi- and fully automatic transmission is ready for public consumption. Check out our KTM Automated Manual Transmission first look for all the details. If that’s more than you want to know, the AMT allows for manual shifting (finger or toe) through the six-speed gearbox, or you can let it be fully automatic. The clutch is a centrifugal design, which has a long history in motorcycles—though not KTMs.

  1. The V-twin gets a 49cc displacement boost. The new 1390 motor displaces 1350cc. There are 171 horsepower on tap at 9500 rpm, with 107 lb-ft of torque delivered at 8000 rpm. Also, the valve check interval has been doubled and is now 60,000 km (about 37,000 miles).

  1. Camshift technology aids in the 1390’s performance. It’s a variable valve timing system that helps the DOHC motor put out more power across the rev range, reducing the need to sacrifice power in one part of the powerband to enable it in others. Other benefits include reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions. Nic de Sena rode the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo hypernaked with this technology last year and was impressed.

  1. The ride modes have been updated. Although we don’t have details on the modes, with a new gearbox, new cams, and more displacement, working on the power modes is mandatory. We can tell you that the modes are customizable.
  1. The frame is stiffer this year. KTM is looking to sharpen the handling with the performance provided by the 1350cc and the Camshift technology.

2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo First Look: Updated Frame

  1. The semi-active suspension from WP is the latest edition. It incorporates new PWM sensors and through-rod construction, blending open cartridge and closed cartridge designs for better performance.
  1. Updated Footpeg Positioning: 8 mm lower and 10 mm wider for improved rider comfort and a wider knee angle.

  1. Latest Generation WP Semi-Active Suspension: The design incorporates through-rod construction, blending Open Cartridge and Closed Cartridge designs for improved performance. New sensors work with the IMU for faster and more accurate reaction to changing road conditions and rider demands. A new forged aluminum upper triple clamp grasps the top of the fork legs.
  1. The 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo gets the new, compact 5th-Generation Bosch Front Radar Sensor. The latest radar and software have improved truck detection, allow for a higher maximum adaptive cruise control speed, and offer enhanced cancellation thresholds in the Dynamic, Street, and Group Ride modes. Also new is the Brake Assist, Collision Stop & Go feature, which automatically stops the bike if the vehicle ahead pauses, and resumes when it moves.

  1. New Brembo front master cylinder and upgraded brake pads result in a sharper bite and improved performance. This is another reaction to the increased power output.
  1. The styling has been reworked, and the ergonomics have been massaged. The big SAS Evo features new bodywork, seat design, LED headlight, cornering lights, and windscreens. An additional storage compartment has been added. The new footpeg is 0.4 inches wider and sits 0.3 inches lower.

  1. A huge new TFT dashboard helps manage the electronics. The rally-style eight-inch vertical touchscreen is anti-reflective and has an anti-fingerprint coating. Navigation is built in, so pairing your smartphone to your motorcycle is optional for this feature.
  1. The price of the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo has not been set. This is a reminder to set an alarm for early spring, as we will have more details then. Note that the images are of the Euro-spec version of the bike.
