It’s time to dust off the cobwebs, as the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship Series resumes for its three-race sprint to the finish. That means picking your top five for your RMFantasyMX leagues, along with the Wild Card. As always, we’re here to help with some stats to make your choices count.
- Be prepared for a titanic battle at Ironman Raceway on Saturday. Since 2019, Tomac and Sexton have won every overall with one exception—Jett Lawrence in 2023. Tomac has three Ironman National overall wins, Sexton has two, and Jett has one. There’s a catch—the track has been simplified for the coming Motocross of Nations battle, and that includes the loss of the famed Godzilla jump. You have three strong podium picks, and putting them in order isn’t going to be easy.

- Jett Lawrence has seven wins in eight rounds, plus a P2—you can’t argue with that. Given that he has proven that he can win at Ironman—he went 1-1 in 2023—he has to be the favorite, despite Sexton’s triumph at Washougal.

- Chase Sexton is back, and a serious challenge to Jett Lawrence at Ironman. Sexton’s confidence will be sky high thanks to Ironman overall wins in 2022 and 2024, along with last round’s win in Washougal. He certainly could repeat, but I’ll have to see one more Sexton win before he becomes the favorite. Sexton for P2.

- Although Eli Tomac has three Ironman National overall, it was a while ago—2019 through 2021. Tomac was P3 at the Washougal National, where he has had plenty of past success. Given the pace of Jett and Sexton, P3 is probably where Tomac will finish overall.

- Hunter Lawrence was on a strong run before a hiccup in the Washougal National. Hunter had four P2s in a row before taking P4 last round. At most tracks, he would be right back up to a P2 pick. However, the performances of Jett, Sexton, and Tomac at Ironman Raceway could prove to be another tough challenge. It’s always tough to predict how riders will come back after a break, especially when the last race was a tough one. While it wouldn’t be a shock to see Hunter right behind Jett, it’s looking like P4 is his slot.

- R.J. Hampshire has become a top-five fixture. Though we haven’t seen him on the podium, Hampshire is on a 4-4-5 run—not bad for a rookie. As he’s getting better as he gathers experience, he’s a natural choice for P5.
- Justin Barcia and Justin Cooper are your best dark horse top-five pick. Barcia has gone 9-7-5-7 since his return from injury, and that puts him in the mix. Justin Cooper had six top-five rounds to start the year, but dropped to 10-6 in the last two rounds. If his form returns, he’s a reliable top-five overall finisher.
- Just a reminder—we won’t see Colt Nichols, Aaron Plessinger, or Cooper Webb for the rest of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship season.
- There are two riders to watch for the P12 Wild Card—Harry Kulas and Lorenzo Locurcio. Finishing 12-16-11-10-13-11 over the last six rounds, Kulas is a strong choice for P12 at the Ironman National. Locurcio has gone 12-13 at the last two rounds, so he’s in the Wild Card discussion. However, Kulas has a longer record of finishing in the P12 vicinity, so he’s my choice.
- They’re racing in the Eastern Time Zone, so West Coasters have to get up early. Race Day Live starts at 7 a.m. PDT, with all the action on Peacock. Check our 2025 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for other viewing details.
