Ducati has recalled 2,083 of its 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S motorcycles due to electrical issues.

The Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer says the effected super bikes – manufactured between March 2012 and August 2012 – may have wiring issues in the handlebar. If faulty, the horn, right turn signal, headlight and instrument panel may fail.

Ducati says the recall affects stateside and Canadian 1199 Panigale motorcycles – not the 899 Panigale.

Ducati says it will notify all effected customers by snail mail with instructions to address the recall.
