Kawasaki returns in 2013 with its Ninja ZX-6R supersport motorcycle. But unlike the last six years, the ZX-6R won’t arrive with a 599cc engine. Rather, the powerplant was bumped back to 636cc, which helps deliver additional power throughout the powerband.

The bike, which was unveiled during the “Ninja Times Square Takeover” in September, is also available with optional ABS for $1000 over the $11,699 base price.

Besides the totally revamped 636cc engine that features a new F.C.C. Clutch, the 2013 Ninja ZX-6R arrives with a three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), which is similar to the on offered on the hypersport ZX-14R.

It also arrives with Nissin brakes, Showa Big Piston-Separate Function Fork, Uni-Trak rear suspension, a lightweight twin-spar aluminum frame, an LED headlight and more aggressive bodywork.
