Jake Weimer motivated for San Diego

Monster Energy / Pro Circuit / Kawasaki is preparing for the penultimate round in California as the Western Region of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites Series heads to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego this Saturday. Jake Weimer has been putting in laps on the practice track and is poised to step up on to the podium Saturday night.

Weimer has already enjoyed an incredible run this season, winning the first three races and finishing second last weekend in San Francisco. The 22-year-old rider holds a 16-point edge in the championship standings and is looking to take advantage of the technical layout this weekend.

Jake Weimer Speaks…

"The San Diego track is usually a little more technical than most," said Weimer. "That works to my advantage because it helps separate the riders. Plus I’m going down there with a little bit of motivation because I want to go win again. I’m going to go to San Diego and get what I want."

The race in San Diego is the fifth of eight for the riders competing for the AMA Supercross Lites Western Region championship. Weimer currently leads the 2010 Lites Championship points standings.
