Andrea Dovizioso Ducati GP19 Auction by Iconic Auctioneers

A rare piece of MotoGP history will go under the hammer on November 9, when Iconic Auctioneers presents Andrea Dovizioso’s 2019 Ducati GP19 Desmosedici at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show’s Iconic Motorcycle Sale. This race-winning bike, expected to sell for at least £500,000 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK, offers collectors a chance to own a machine that powered Dovizioso to second place in the 2019 MotoGP World Championship. The Ducati GP19 on offer took victories at the Qatar and Austria Grands Prix in 2019, alongside several podium finishes.

In addition to the 250-horsepower V4 powerplant, the GP19 features high-end components, including Öhlins suspension, Brembo carbon disc brakes, a seamless gearbox, and an aluminum alloy Evo twin-spar frame. This GP19 has innovations that influenced Ducati’s later bikes. Ducati’s resale embargo on the GP19, lifted only in 2024, underscores its advanced engineering, making this auction a rare moment for collectors.

Dovizioso competed at the sport’s highest level for nearly two decades, retiring in 2022. His 2019 season was a high point, finishing second in the MotoGP championship behind Marc Márquez aboard the GP19. Dovizioso’s thrilling 2019 Austrian Grand Prix, where he outdueled Márquez at the Red Bull Ring, is just one example of the Ducati GP19 in action.
