2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700 First Look: 8 ADV Fast Facts

A seven percent displacement increase leads a long list of improvements to the previous Moto Morini X-Cape. Now a 700-class adventure bike intended to go head-to-head with the Yamaha Ténéré 700, the 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700 offers a broad range of features that belie its $8299 MSRP.

2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700: Price

  1. The power bump is more than you’d expect from the additional displacement. The 700’s 70-horsepower output at 8500 rpm is a 17 percent boost over the X-Cape 650. Further, peak torque is up 18 percent, with the 693cc parallel twin delivering 50 ft-lbs at 6500 rpm. Top speed is up almost 10 percent, from 105 to 115 mph. The weight of the new 2-into-1 exhaust has been reduced, and it includes engine heat shields. There are two power modes—Road and Dirt.
  1. The six-speed transmission’s wet multiplate clutch gets a slipper function. That’s an improvement, though we’d also like to see the assist function added for a lighter touch at the clutch lever, which gets a new adjuster. We wouldn’t turn our noses up at a quickshifter, either.

  1. The KYB shock now has a hand knob to adjust spring preload. The shock also has rebound-damping adjustability for the revised standard damping settings. The Marzocchi fork is an inverted 50mm design, and is fully adjustable. Travel is adventure-friendly with almost seven inches in the front and 6.5 inches in the rear.
  1. A smartphone app syncs to a higher-resolution, glove-compatible, seven-inch TFT dash via Bluetooth. New graphics and an updated layout have also been implemented. There’s also a powered USB-C port for charging, in addition to the returning USB-A port. A forward-facing camera can be linked to your smartphone for recording rides.
  1. The 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700 has a larger windscreen. The screen is also easier to adjust with one hand.

2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700 First Look: Specs

  1. The bodywork has been smoothed and the graphics cleaned up. Handguards are now standard, and the rear rack gets a new design. Also, the tapered aluminum handlebar has six mounting positions.
  1. The new centerstand makes it easier to do maintenance on the X-Cape 700. It will come in handy if one of the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tires needs attention.
  1. The 2026 Moto Morini X-Cape 700 is available in two colors—Carrera White and Italia Red. The adventure bike comes with a three-year, unlimited-mile warranty. The $8299 MSRP is a modest $300 bump over last year’s 650.
